In short

  • 30th Celebration came out on September 16, 2026, on the same day worldwide, in English, French and Japanese.
  • Every card is foil, and every pack holds one of the set's 30 Pikachu.
  • New this time: the Futuristic Rare rarity, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN, with Mewtwo ex and Mew ex.
  • As of October 3, 2026, no card from the set has a price yet in NookDex's data: we'll update once they show up.

For the game's 30th birthday, Pokémon put out a set that feels more like a party than a regular expansion. Foil everywhere, Pikachu to collect, and a nod to the cards that made history. Here's what we know, what the card list shows, and what we'd chase first.

What's in the set?

The set has 128 numbered cards ("official" count) and goes up to 158 with the secret rares in the data we follow. Each pack holds five foil cards plus a foil basic Energy, according to retailer listings.

There are also 30 classic cards coming back from across the game's history, from Base Set Charizard to more recent hits. TCGdex doesn't list them yet, so no card page or price here: we'll add them once they're available.

The rarities, card by card

What the English list holds (classic reprints aside):

Rarity Cards
Common 68
Pikachu Rare 30
Rare 18
Illustration rare 18
Double rare 12
Special illustration rare 10
Futuristic Rare 2

The 30 Pikachu Rares are the running theme: each pack hides one, and getting them all is a fun collecting goal. At the very top, the Futuristic Rare is the set's brand-new rarity: just two cards, Mewtwo ex (157) and Mew ex (158), in YOSHIROTTEN's graphic style. The set's Energy cards share that look.

Which cards to chase?

No surprise: it's those two Futuristic Rares everyone wants. Right behind come the ten special illustration rares (147 to 156): Fuecoco ex, Greninja ex, two Pikachu ex, Mewtwo ex, Mew ex, Sylveon ex, Gengar ex, Jirachi ex and Salamence ex.

Is it worth opening?

It's all foil and every pack has its Pikachu, so the opening is fun even without a big hit. As a collection, it's a celebration set rather than a competitive one. On the product side, a six-pack Booster Bundle and a nine-pack Elite Trainer Box are listed by retailers.

As for prices, hang tight: there's no TCGplayer market price for these cards in our data yet. We'll update as soon as the numbers land.
